Can you find fortitude when limping in indecisiveness?
As followers of Christ we are not immune from hardships, disappointment and heartaches….. but we don’t have to be disassembled, crushed, and defeated and stuck.
Life is Short: Cope or Celebrate
• Can you have clarity when things seem unclear?
• Can you make sense out of senseless tragedy?
• Can you have commitment when clapping with one hand?
Today..
++Can you find fortitude when limping in indecisiveness?
“Life is a matter of choices. And every choice you make, makes you!”
John Maxwell
Faith is to _see_ what you do not see.
The _reward_ of faith is to see what you believe.
1 Kings 18:20–21
Point of contact: The place where heaven meets humans.
God refuses to allow His children to limp through life, be double-minded, wishy-washy, indecisive, luke-warm wimps.
Confrontation leads to exposure of lack of fortitude.
So God sent Elijah- Messenger of God
How do we face indecisiveness:
1. _Stop limping_- stand firm in faith.
1 Kings 18:20–21
• Not choosing to follow God is choosing against God.
“If you are going to be saved, be saved all the way.”
Charles Spurgeon
“Being a part-time Christian is a terrible hobby.”
Pastor Gary Fine
1 Kings 18:1–4
1 Kings 18:7–8
Obadiah Christian- An example/leader in limping in indecisiveness.
• One foot in the world and one foot with God.
• Does good deeds but compromises for compensation.
• Claims to serve God, yet serves man for personal benefits.
• Has a form of godliness but denies the power of God.
1 Kings 18:16
Faith is not belief without proof, but faith is trust without reservation.
2. _Remove idols_- empty false values.
An idol is something that takes on “ultimate worth.”
Instead of God, this false value becomes your “go to,” your security, personal fulfillment, or identity.
Often idols are a good thing that is elevated to a god-thing.
3. _Worship God_- boldness replaces indecisiveness.
1 Kings 18:37–39
