5 Kernels of Thanksgiving

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!

5 Benefits (kernels) of Thanksgiving

1). The Kernel of forgiveness.

  • Psalm 103:3a “who forgives all your iniquity”
  • 1. Promise from the Father.
  • To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him. Daniel 9:9
  • As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12

2. Provision from the Son.

  • In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, Ephesians 1:7

3. Proclamation of the Bible.

  •   Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. Hebrews 9:22

4. Practice of the Believer.

  • Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32

2). The Kernel of Healing

  • Psalm 103:3b “….who heals all of your disease.”

Quick note about healing. . . . .

  • 1. All healing is divine. God is our Great Healer.
  • 2. Bible doesn’t say God heals everyone’s diseases, but that He heals all diseases.
  • 3. This disease is speaking about the sick soul.

3). The kernel of Redemption.

  • Psalm 103a: “Who redeems your life from the pit”
  • I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry.
  • He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.

 4). The kernel of love and mercy.

  • Psalm 103:4b: ‘…. who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy.”

5. The kernel of renewal.

  • who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:5
