The Providence of Detours
God is completely sovereign, which means that His rule and authority affect everything and everyone. Nothing sits outside nor can ever stop God’s control.
Providence is the hand of God in the glove of history in order to maneuver historical destiny to accomplish God’s purposes and our good and eternal destiny.
Ephesians 1:11 In Him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.
Therefore, you can’t have luck and a sovereign God coexist!!
Genesis 50:19-20 But Joseph said to them, “Do not fear, for am I in the place of God? (20)As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.
God did this on purpose!
Providence includes good and evil.
Mark this down…
God can’t and will never sin nor ever endorse sin.
But God can and will use sin.
Here’s the difficulty we all face…
We never see all the details involved to bring about God’s purpose.
Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Leave luck alone!
Look to God’s providence!
