How Can We Please God?

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.  Hebrews13:16

People pleasing is a well-worn scheme and trap of Satan.

Please God, love people.

If you please God, it doesn’t matter whom you displease.

you displease God, it doesn’t matter whom you pleased.

How can we please God?

1. Having _faith_ pleases God.

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6

A biblical faith that saves……………..

1. Firm persuasion/conviction.

2. A total surrender to that truth.

3. A response and change of life (seeking/obedience).

A biblical faith that pleases God……………..

1. Make a _full-surrender_ to God.

Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; 1 John 3:21

A biblical faith that pleases God……………..

2.Saturate your life in the Word of God.

So faith comes from hearing , and hearing through the word of Christ. Romans 10:17

**Remember our primary response to the Bible is not to _explain_ it, but to simply _believe_ it.

A biblical faith that pleases God……………..

3. Pray. “Lord, increase my faith.”

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” Luke 17:5

Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!” Mark 9:24

A biblical faith that pleases God……………..

4. Take the faith you’ve been given and _use it _.

And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. Luke 17:6

Truth:

God is not setting a premium on “little mustard seed” faith. Rather God is declaring that the least amount of faith is greater than the greatest amount of difficulty.

5. Keep your eyes on Jesus and keep _seeking_ after Him.

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6

1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2
