The Woman:
And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth. And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven diadems. His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she bore her child he might devour it. She gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne, and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, in which she is to be nourished for 1,260 days. -Revelation 12:1–6
Then he dreamed another dream and told it to his brothers and said, “Behold, I have dreamed another dream. Behold, the sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me.” But when he told it to his father and to his brothers, his father rebuked him and said to him, “What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall I and your mother and your brothers indeed come to bow ourselves to the ground before you?” -Genesis 37:9–10
But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law… Galatians 4:4
– Nothing happened by chance !
2). The dragon .
– Destructive and powerful nature.
And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven diadems. (V3)
– We live on a demon infested planet.
His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth. (V4a)
– The Devil loves death .
And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she bore her child he might devour it.
3). The Baby .
She gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne,
– The Birth of Christ means defeat for the dragon.
– The Ascension of Christ means that the death (Satan) is defeated and the victory is won!
“but her child was caught up to God and to his throne,”
What does the battle of Bethlehem mean for us today?
-Christmas is good news for a world in darkness.
– Peace on earth means war in heaven.
When Mary sang her song (Luke 1:46-55) and while the angels sang their song (Luke 2:14) the heavenly angels battled.
– The Great Invasion started in a manger.
– God wins ! Evil loses !
Everyone has a choice to make:
Follow the dying kingdom of this world
++ or
++Follow Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord- a Kingdom that will never end!
