Jealousy:
• ++Full to be emptied
• ++Great desire to keep
• ++Clinging to what you have
• ++Focused on losing
• ++Fueled by a sense of control
• ++Rooted in fear
Both:
• ++Have many faces, but no friends
Someone has what you want.
Someone becomes an outside threat.
The spirit of jealousy is dangerous, breath of Satan, enslaves, dividing, destructive, despairing and finally. . . . .

Envy:
1) Do you resent someone? (Secretly, abilities, talents, position, gifts, possessions).
2) Do you make negative comments/criticisms toward someone with authority, position, or popularity?
3) Do you secretly rejoice when someone suffers, makes mistakes or has setbacks?
Jealousy:
1) Are you overly possessive with someone or something?
2) Do you attempt to control someone or something?
3) Do you seek exclusive relationship with someone? Do you begrudge someone for having other friends pr hobbies?
4) Are you insecure about any relationships ending or insecure about the future with that person?
Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who can stand before envy? Proverbs 27:4
Envy and jealousy is worst than anger or wrath because it needs no cause or reason, unlike anger.
Unlike anger, envy is hidden, out of sight and so others and even self are unaware of this demonic stronghold.
But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying. For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic.For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.

Steps to overcome jealousy:
1. Admit you are jealous and stop justifying your sin.
2. If you are jealous of someone, invest in them.
3. Resist the spirit of jealousy and cultivate a humble contented heart.
4. Give God praise for His provision, His love and His promotion.
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.

1. Comparison
• ++Measuring your own _worth_ against someone’s attributes.
2. Competition
• ++Seeking to _outperform_ others.
3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

3. Covetousness
• ++Craving what someone has.
But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.

4. Discontentment
• ++Feeling dissatisfied with what you have.
