How Demons Enter, part 2

Demons can not enter anytime they choose. There must be a door opened for demons to enter.

Demons dwell where access is given.

1. Habitual sins.

2. Familiar spirits.

  • Family
  • Early in life
  • Evil inheritance
  • bloodline
  • unwanted pregnancies
  • gender disappointment/confusion

41 And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit,

Luke 1:41

11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 1:11, 13-14

3. Transfer of spirits.

++22 Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, nor take part in the sins of others; keep yourself pure.

1 Timothy 5:22

  • Worldly sex

++16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.”

1 Corinthians 6:16

  • Associates

++33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”

1 Corinthians 15:33

  • Television/media

++22 Abstain from every form of evil. 23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.

1Thessalonians 5:22-24

4. Spirit of addiction.

This is a spiritual fight!!

21 So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. 22 For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, 23 but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. 24 Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?

Romans 7:21-24

25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

Romans 7:25

6 but brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers?

1 Corinthians 6:12

Open doors tot he spirit of addiction:

  • Delusion
  • Secrecy
  • Isolation

Gods solution to those open doors:

  • Delusion-Word of God
  • Secrecy-People of God
  • Isolation-Spirit of God

5. Idle words.

36 I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, 37 for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Matthew 12:36-37

So how do we as followers, believers of Christ keep the door shut to demons?

Jesus is our door.

I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.

John 10:9

1 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. >

5 A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” 6 This figure of speech Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them. 7 So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the door. >

If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

John 10:1-11

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”

John 10:27-30
