In Need Of A Miracle, part 3

You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.

Psalm 77:14 NIV

Why are there miracles in the Bible?

“Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves. Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I am going to the Father. And whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

(John 14:11-14, NASB20)

Here’s our “belief” dilemma. . . . .

There is a _gap _in our theology and our reality; between what we believe and what we experience in our lives.

Here is what I call our “the miracle mistake” . . . . .

Our _theology_ conforms to our reality and our view of God is small and lacking faith.

“Cut and paste Christianity.”

Ignore the things we haven’t _experienced_.

Remove the responsibility to _ask_.

“Soundy fishy” miracle.

“Now when they came to Capernaum, those who collected the two-drachma tax came to Peter and said, “Does your teacher not pay the two-drachma tax?” He *said, “Yes.” And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth collect customs or poll-tax, from their sons or from strangers?” When Peter said, “From strangers,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are exempt. However, so that we do not offend them, go to the sea and throw in a hook, and take the first fish that comes up; and when you open its mouth, you will find a stater. Take that and give it to them for you and Me.””

(Matthew 17:24-27, NASB20)

Why did Jesus do this miracle this way or for what reason?

Believing miracles.

Miracles and Believing Class 101:

1. Miracles. . . . .It’s a _God thing_.

Peter. . . . .”It doesn’t matter. Either it is of God or it’s not. This is on Jesus.”

2. Miracles are beyond any personal level of _proficiency_.

God does miracles in the areas of lives where we think we got this figured out.

3. Miracles are _faith-in-action_, a willingness to obey when it doesn’t make sense.

4. Miracles are _unplanned_.

Be honest. . . . .

++Are you completely open to God doing something unprecedented in your life today?

Are you asking the Lord for a miracle or maybe asking to be a miracle?

When god thinks of you, is He smiling, laughing, rejoicing or,  is God _yawning_?
