In Need of Miracles – Part 7

You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples.
Psalm 77:14 ESV
Base line Belief:

• God is STILL a God of miracles, He rules overall and NOTHING is impossible with God.
Prayer is our _connection_ and _command_ to God’s power.
Then God said, “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Genesis 1:26,28
Pastor’s Points:
1. Faith & prayer grabs the invisible (what I can’t see) to promote the visible (miracles.)
Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
Jeremiah 33:3
2. Prayer (believing, seeking and waiting) invites heaven into _history_ and eternity into _time_.
Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear.
Isaiah 65:24
Can the “fervent prayer” of a righteous man promote the miraculous? Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.
James 5:16-18
Elijah’s keys for miracles.
1. Elijah knew God’s Word.
Take care lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them; then the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you, and he will shut up the heavens, so that there will be no rain, and the land will yield no fruit, and you will perish quickly off the good land that the LORD is giving you.
Deuteronomy 11:16-17
Side Note:

• God is not going to bless you so you can share it with an _idol_!
2. Elijah’s point of connection to the miraculous is _prayer_.
Now Elijah the Tishbite, of Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.”
I Kings 17:1
So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Mount Carmel. And he bowed himself down on the earth and put his face between his knees.
I Kings 18:42
Side Note:

• God’s miracle gift are free, but often they are not easy to _open_.
For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing out in the valleys and ills, a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of love trees and honey, a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing , a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper. And you shall eat and be full, and you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land he has given you.
Deuteronomy 8:7-10
3. Elijah never _gave up_….he kept believing, seeking and waiting:
I Kings 18:41-46

• Super, abundant, strength.
Anyone need a “today” miracle?
_Don’t_ _give_ _up_!!
